Daniel Negreanu takes Heads Up #2
As a part of the new Wynn Las Vegas casino opening fanfare, Canadian born poker pro Daniel Negreanu has offered all comers the chance to play him heads up in a high stakes poker game of the challenger's choice. He's had two takers so far. First up was David Oppenheim who caught some nice cards in their limit holdem game and walked away with $200,000 of Daniel's cash. (or is it Wynn's cash? I suspect they may be putting up at least some of Daniel's stake)
The second batter to the plate was Mimi Tran. Mimi also chose limit holdem for the match but did not fare as well as David, going down in a 10 hour marathon.
There's rumours that Barry Greenstein or math whiz David Sklansky might be one of the next challengers. I hope one of them is brave enough to take on Daniel in a game of No Limit Holdem rather than another limit foot race. It sure sounds like Wynn Las Vegas is the place to be at the moment for the best poker action. Get down there and check it out if you are in 'The Vegas'.
