Rocks & Rings - What the?

Thursday, May 19, 2005

I'm all for the furtherment of poker culture into mainstream life, but the junk that Antonio 'The Magician' Esfandiari is going on about at his website is just embarassing for the game.

Rocks & Rings and everything they go on about just reads as an immature load of mumbo jumbo. I guess I just missed out on the Bling Bling generation and everything that goes with it. Over the hill at 30!

Here's a few of examples;

TURBO SHOPPING. Buying clothing under the gun, where money is no object and second-guessing is not allowed.

BUDGET BOY. A term of disdain directed toward anyone who contemplate the price of a purchase. "If you have to ask, Budget Boy, you can't afford it."

So what is Rocks and Rings? A boys' club? An attitude? A way of life? An excuse to, as the Beastie Boys put it, "Fight for your right to party?" A swarm-and-conquer strategy for meeting women? All of that, and more, much more. If you want to be Rocks and Rings, all you have to do is make style your watchword, strike an attitude of invincibility and never put a price on anything. Rocks and Rings rules!

What the?

Anyway, count me out of any local neighbourhood Rocks & Rings crew that might be forming. Win some more poker tournaments and you'll impress me Antonio. For now it seems you are just a 'Budget Boy' when it comes to class and your limited success has gone to your head. Stick to the magic tricks.

  • What a lame, all that weird nonsense talk of his "swarm and conquer strategy to meet women"....What? Thats just plain creepy.
    My theory on his "rocks and rings"- he gets head rings while smoking his crack rocks.

    Just giving a girls point of view.
