The 2005 WSOP is under way!

The 2005 World Series of Poker has started at the Rio in Las Vegas, so get set for 1 1/2 months of WSOP news!The first event was the Casino Employees championship.
Event #1: Casino Employees World Poker Championship
Location: Rio, Las Vegas
Buy-in: $500
Number of Entries: 662
Total Prize Money: $297,900
It broke the record for number of entries ever received before, and was won by a dealer from Binions Las Vegas, Andy Nguyen who took home $83,390. Not bad for a days work!
Event number 2 is in progress now, the $1500 buy in No Limit Texas Holdem event. It also broke a record, becoming the 2nd biggest field in a WSOP event, less than only last year's main event which attracted 2576 entrants.
News is that this years combined WSOP events will top $100million in prize money. Oh wow......
