First Round and out!

Sunday, March 05, 2006

Phil Hellmuth busted out in the first round. Chip Reese had pocket tens to Hellmuth's Q-9 on the final hand. The flop was 10-7-3 giving Reese top set and sending Phil on his way. So there will be no repeat for the self proclaimed unluckiest man in poker and we'll have a new heads champ in 2006.

In other first round matchups, Chris Ferguson defeated Freddy Deeb, Mike Sexton knocked out Annie Duke, Josh Arieh defeated David Williams and Barry Shulman stole Antonio the magician's rocks, rings and magic.

With Annie Duke gone, it means all the ladies busted out in the first round which is a shame.

Play finished for the day at the conclusion of round one. Round two play begins tomorrow morning at 11am.

I'm looking forward to hearing about Negreanu Vs Raymer, but every matchup is a good one.
