Internet poker guru cashes in for real.
Furthering the reputation of online players, online poker celebrity Darrell “Gigabet” Dicken has won a Grueling 13-Hour Final Table in WSOP Circuit event at Harrah’s Rincon. Despite being run at the same time as the NBC National Heads Up Championship the Rincon WSOP circuit event still drew some big names. The final table included several well known pro's including Kathy Liebert, Andy Bloch, and Tom “The Shamrock Kid” McCormick.
The Shamrock Kid was the first to finishing in 9th place. Desperately short stacked he pushed all in with pocket 6's, only to be destroyed when Gary Lent's Cowboy's flopped to quads.
Andy Bloch fell hard, going from second in chips to out in a devastating 30-minute span. Again Lent was the culprit stealing almost half of Andy's chips with an all-in on the river bet. His final undoing were the hole cards of the week, the Kris R Special, pocket 4's. Andy made a move to steal the blinds with his KRS only to find Lent sitting on the big blind with pocket rockets, when Lent made his trips on the turn Andy's fate was sealed and he went out in 7th place.
Gary Lent's fantastic run ended in 4th place, when his A-K ran into eventual winner Darrell Dicken's KRS, no pair came for Lent and Dicken's pocket four's proved too strong.
Kathy Liebert fell in almost humorous circumstances, WeiKai Chang moved all in with K-7, and was called by both Dicken (J-10) and Liebert (K-J). The final board showed 7-5-2-2-Q, and the lowest hole card was paired, tripling up Chang and eliminating Liebert in 3rd place.
When heads-up play began, Darrell Dicken enjoyed a decisive 11-1 chip lead over Chang and the end seemed near. Chang however had other ideas forged a steely comeback that took him to the chip lead. Nearly an hour after heads-up play started, the final decisive hand of the tournament took place when Chang was dealt 10-10, Chang raised and Dicken, holding J-J, re-raised all-in. Chang thought for a moment, and called. He instinctively knew he was in trouble, a fact confirmed when the hole cards were revealed. Chang needed one last miracle, a ten, which did not come. The pocket jacks held up and Dicken was the champion.
Dicken received the coveted WSOP gold and diamond ring presented to each Circuit winner. He also collected $372,780 in first-place prize money. A reporter asked Dicken what he plans to do with all the cash. “I don’t know,” he replied. “Put it in the bank?”
Once again online players have proved their place in the poker world, congratulations to “Gigabet” from every one at poker.com.
