Poker Players Alliance

Tuesday, March 07, 2006

The Poker Players Alliance is a nonprofit membership organization comprised of poker players and enthusiasts from around the United States who have joined together to speak with one voice to promote the game, ensure its integrity, and, most importantly, to protect poker players’ rights.

Click the Logo and go visit their site. Make sure you use their tools to email/send a letter to your state representatives if you live in the USA. Don't let corrupt politicians take away your right to play poker simply because they want to help their buddies that contribute to campaign coffers make more money from lotteries and horse racing.

  • Yes, we definitely need to un-grey the laws, and make it totally legal. The casinos are lobbying very heavily to make it illegal...they think they stand to lose customers to online poker (not true...they'll probably gain customers overall).

Interesting: I deposited $50 into a competitor for poker.com (PartyPoker), and they offered a link after I did a deposit that pointed to this alliance, AND they offered to fund my account with $25 extra $$ if I joined through that link (joining costs $20 and you get a t-shirt and some other stuff). I thought that was a good incentive, it'd be nice if poker.com did something like that too.
