Celebrity Poker Showdown gets a new Phil

Thursday, May 04, 2006

With the 8th season about to launch Phil Gordon has been replaced by none other than my favourite pokerbrat Phil Helmuth.

Host Dave Foley returns and brings a mixed bag of celebrities including Jason Alexander, Kevin Sorbo, Fred Savage, Jen Tilly, Andy Dick and Macy Gray.

To be honest Ive only watched one episode of previous seasons, the poker play wasnt really to my liking, but it seemed Foley and Gordon had some good chemisty, it will be interesting to see how my boy fits in.

If nothing else Hellmuth will at least make the series interesting, he may spend the whole time talking about himself and not the celebrities, but I can promise you this: by the end of this series, we will know who Phil Hellmuth is. He wants us to be able to feel it.

The full celebrity line up is as follows:

Game 1: Jorge Garcia, Michael Ian Black, Andrea Martin, Greg Behrendt, and Kim Coles.
Game 2: Jason Alexander, Kevin Sorbo, Bryan Cranston, Jamie Bamber, and Susie Essman.
Game 3: Fred Savage, Jennifer Tilly, Doug E. Doug, Brett Butler, and online tournament winner Ida Siconolfi
Game 4: Jenna Fischer, Mario Cantone, Rocco Dispirito, Jordan Peele, and Keegan-Michael Key.
Game 5: Andy Dick, Macy Gray, Christopher Meloni, Joy Behar, and Robin Tunney.

  • I'm a big Pokerbrat fan and have that pic as well. Always love his slick-finger point to the camera!!

  • I am tired of seeing this child. I hope he goes on a 4 year losing streak.
