Google Poker Trends

Saturday, May 13, 2006

Google has released another product of their labs department - Google Trends. Trends allows you to see what the world is searching for.

I did a trend search for poker, and the results were pretty much what I expected. A big spike when the World Series of Poker is on. Google even highlights the news story about Joe Hachem winning as being significant to the spike in searches.

Another peak is around Christmas time - everybody looking for poker related gifts I bet!

It's fun to play around and see the countries that search the most for each term and how current events effect what people are searching for. Type in WSOP and see the HUGE jump in traffic during July.

There's still time to qualify for your spot in the world's biggest ever poker tournament. Poker.com has started daily freeroll tournaments that give players a FREE shot at making it to this year's World Series of Poker. That's right - FREE!

  • If you go onto google and type in 'failure'

Instead of hitting enter or clicking search, try clicking 'I'm feeling lucky'

Have a chuckle at what you get :-)
