Day 5 - Rio Penalty for Eric Molina

Monday, August 07, 2006

Eric Molina makes a half pot bet into a 200,000 pot. Current chip leader Jamie Gold raises to $300,000 and Eric pushes all in for about $700k more.

Molina starts with the banter "Just fold, I have the best hand, stop wasting time" and then throws his "all-in" chip at Gold. Jamie Gold throws it back at Molina and eventually folds.

Molina takes down a huge pot that takes Jamie out of the chip lead. Erik Molina is removed from the table when he drops the "F-Bomb" at the table. Jamie dobs him in to the floor manager and Molina hits the rail for 10 minutes.

As Molina walks away the banter continues, he's telling Gold just how much he loved taking the chips from him.

This puts Erik Friberg in the chip lead with a little over 6.5m in chips.

  • just wanted to tell you that eric didnt throw his chip at gold, he tossed it on the table and it just happened to go in gold's direction and he didnt drop the f bomb, he started to but didnt finish it, gold just needed a reason to throw a tantrum like a little baby! get over yourself gold....

  • even if it wasn't the f bomb he's a little punk. I hate players that are to cocky, which is why I don't like jamie gold either. I know that poker is attracting a younger crowd which is great but the young guns of poker need to counduct themselves appropriately.
