Go Barack Go

Thursday, February 21, 2008

We're not usually very politically minded here at Poker.com, and we're not even from the USA, but the current presidential race in the United States has been captivating.

For once it seems there's a candidate that may actually follow through on what he is promising - Barack Obama.

And he has said he loves to play poker too!

The first reason we liked him is because he is not named Bush or Clinton. He's right when he says it's time for a change. Bill Clinton was a good president, but the world doesn't need his angry wife as the most powerful person on the planet! And the less said about Bushes the better....

From speaking to friends from all corners of the globe, I think the USA could be giving themselves a huge boost in reputation and likeability by electing Senator Obama. He seems to really care about the issues at hand and is a much more presentable and convincing leader than the clown that has been running the country for the past 2 terms.

So anyway, we just wanted to show Barack some love, and if any of our American friends haven't decided who they would like as president yet, you know who we recommend.

  • LOL, that is funny that you know more about the candidates that most people of the united states know. I would have to agree with your post for sure.

  • you are so full of crap you can't even bluff. not suprised if you lose more players. to bad you are supporting someone that does not even pledge to his own country.what kick in the butt to all veterans.

  • Learn to think a bit next time before going off half-cocked. Some people are saying Obama is unpatriotic because he didnt cover his heart during the pledge. Well, it WASNT the pledge, it was the national anthem and modern custom does not require a hand over the heart. But if you watch closely: He is the ONLY one singing! Clinton clearly is not, Richardson might be. So, who is the unpatriotic one?

  • Totally agree! Obama will be a terrific president. And yes, that's cool that he loves poker!

  • I'm a vet and my son as well as his wife are both with the 82nd Airborne in the U.S. Army. Do I think he's unpatriotic ? Not by no means .
I said four years ago that this man would be President of this country one day and I think he will win .
Reading up on his history leads me to believe that he will be a man that will listen to the people , be it poor , middle class or the rich .
On the online poker matter he at least says there should be a study of online gambling , that's a start . I still encourage folk to write their Congressmen that the laws need to be changed tho...

  • Hate to tell you guys, but the only thing Obama changes is the name. Whenever he tries to pass off specifics of his platform and policies, they are fairly identical to HRC's. And he fights just as dirty as anyone. He used political influence to get a judge to unseal confidential court papers about his opponent's divrce which had no bearing on the Illinois Senate race for no other reason than to smear and embarrass Jack Ryan.

Seriously, all this talk about how he's going to bring change and hope is just as ignorant as the dopes saying he's unpatriotic or a terrorist sympathizer. Its too vague and contradicts the facts.

  • I have called Senator Obama's press secretary Micheal Ortiz several times requesting the Senators position on online poker and the UIGEA and he refuses to return my phone calls. Sounds like the same ole BS we Americans put up with now, not the change Obama campaigns for.

  • And by the way, Nixon was a world class poker player. As was Truman.

Somehow, I don't think they are seen in a positive light by you guys.

  • Bush is a world class poker player
