Was the WSOP better?

Wednesday, November 12, 2008

So the World Series of Poker final table has come and gone. It was delayed 117 days so that the 'November 9' could be promoted in the lead up to the grand finale televised via delayed telecast on ESPN.

Do you think it was any better? Was it promoted more? I certainly didn't see much going on...

But I don't live in a major poker market like the USA or Europe. What happened there? Did you see much about the November nine?

I almost forget that the WSOP was on again... The final table used to be one of the things I looked forward to every year like the NBA finals or the Superbowl. It was a premier sporting event. This year it felt more like the life had been sucked out of it. It was an ati-climax...

But that's just me... Maybe other people got more excited than usual?

Congrats Peter Eastgate. Enjoy spending your millions!

  • Didn't hear much at all leading up to the game, but I think that is due in large part because of the Presidential election that was going on.

  • Certainly it wasn't "better:" ESPN's broadcasts are as bad as ever. And with a 59 hour delay from the start of taping to broadcast it was hard to avoid spoilers, especially with ESPN posting who won all day long. But ratings did soar.

  • My name is Bridget Reno and I am a dedicated poker player. Online poker is remarkably fun! For all those who are frequent online poker players, wait till you try it in a real life casino. The excitement is so much more incredible. The more poker the better is what I always say. I am a big time poker player myself and I surf through the web quite frequently in search of sites offering poker products and poker apparel. Which, by the way I happened to come across a pretty unique website just a few days ago which might fascinate poker players. It was a website that actually sold almost everything you could ever imagine in regards to poker. This website was called DonkeyGear.net. You might want to check it out when you have a chance. Either way, keep on playing poker, practice makes professionals, and with a game such as this you only get better with time.
