This is a numbers game. The value of cards in this game are face value except for: Aces, which the player can choose to make One or Eleven, and face cards, which are worth a half a point. When the game ends, the pot will be split between the player whose hand is closest to a number value of Seven and the player whose hand is closest to a number value of Twenty-Seven.
Each player is dealt one card face-down and one card face-up, followed by a betting round. In clockwise order beginning to his left, the dealer asks each player if they would like to receive another card (a la Blackjack). When the dealer has made this round of the table ending with himself, if at least one player chose to take an extra card, there is another betting round. Following the betting round, the dealer again asks each player if they will take an additional card. If at least one player takes one, then this is followed by another betting round.
A player is allowed to decline from taking an additional card on one turn, and then accept an additional card on a subsequent turn. However, once a player declines on taking an additional card three times, that player's hand is frozen, and he is no longer permitted to take additional cards.
Once the dealer makes the round of the table and no player chooses to take an additional card, there is a final betting round. What follows is a declare round, with each player declaring whether they are going for the best "Seven Hand" or the best "Twenty-Seven Hand". Of those declaring "Seven", the player whose hand's number value is closest to seven receives half the pot. Of those declaring "Twenty-Seven", the hand closest to twenty-seven receives the other half the pot.
Before the game starts, the dealer will need to announce how tie hands are determined. An example tie hand would be if two players declare "Seven", one with a hand worth six, the other with a hand worth eight. The dealer may announce that "the low tie hand wins" (in this case, the hand worth six), "the high tie hand wins" (in this case, the hand worth eight), or "tie hands split their half of the pot".
Note: A hand consisting of two Aces and a Five is the perfect hand, and one that automatically wins both halves of the pot. A player may call "Pig" (declaring both the best "Seven hand" and the best "Twenty-Seven hand"), but it would not be too wise unless that player had the two Aces and Five. Making the two Aces worth 'one' each, this hand would equal Seven. Making the two Aces worth 'eleven' each, this hand would equal Twenty-Seven.
