The 2007 World Series of Poker main event in Las Vegas is entering it's final stages, with just 17 players remaining at the time of this article.
Play started with 6358 players, all putting up $10,000 to play.
The winner will take home $8,250,000, and every player still remaining is guaranteed at least $381,302 for their trouble.
Scotty Nguyen, the 1998 champion, seems to be the current crowd favorite, and is the only ex champion remaining in the field. Pronounced Scotty 'Win', his name is synonymous with good play and good times at the poker table.
He recently doubled his stack to $5.4 million and is sitting in 12th position. He was famously quoted saying "you call and it's all over baby" on the final hand of his 1998 win, and there'll be lots of press and TV executives hoping he goes deep enough in this one to provide some more memorable moments.
The current leader is Tuan Lam, from San Jose California. He has cashed twice before in World Series of Poker events, but is yet to win a tournament.
Right on his tail is the experienced Lee Watkinson, with 9 WSOP cashes for over $1.2 million and a bracelet from the 2006 $10,000 Pot Limit Omaha event.
Here are the current chip counts.
