David Singer is known for wearing flashy jewelery, his favorite item being silver rings. He now may have to change his favorite his metal of choice to gold to go with his new WSOP bracelet.

Whilst he has won more than $4million in tournament cash since he started playing in 2001, this was the first time he has finished higher than 4th in a WSOP event.

Singer's partner was expecting the birth of their first child on the very day the final table was played.

Singer had said "The moment she goes into labor, I am quitting the tournament."I don't care even if I am playing heads-up for the bracelet".

Luckily his queen-four of spades held up for him to take out the tournament before he needed to rush to the hospital.

He also said "This is not the most money I have ever won in a poker tournament. But it makes me the happiest, I would say for sure."

Just last month Singer took out the $25,000 buy-in heads up tournament at Full Tilt Poker, winning $560,000. That put him in a very confident frame of mind when heads up play began.

"I won a $25,000 heads-up poker tournament last week (which was worth $560,000). When we got heads-up in this event, I was expecting to run over (Fernandez). I did not know much about him. But he sure turned out to be pretty tough", said Singer. Heads-up play lasted over 100 hands.

Here are the final table final placings and prizemoney.
