Happy Birthday Full Tilt

July 10, 2009

It only seems like yesterday that it burst onto the market, but Full Tilt Poker is turning 5 years old and plans to celebrate.

To get its players into the right party mood, Full Tilt Poker will run 5 promotions from 9 July to 19 July. This is partially to say thanks to everyone for helping Full Tilt to become so successful, but also to encourage new players to join in now that Full Tilt Poker is better than ever.

The first promotion to begin will be a special Refer a Friend bonus of $275 for anyone who refers 5 friends between 8 July and 19 July. If those friends make a real money deposit before the end of 19 July and then earn 5 Full Tilt points within 60 days of deposit, the referrer gets a bonus $275 on top of the normal money earned for referrals. This offer is not limited and can be paid out as many times as 5 of your referrals fulfill the requirements in the qualifying time period.

On 14 July, the party really gets started, with a 24 hour Happy Hour period where all ring games, Sit & Gos, and tournaments will offer 5 times the usual Full Tilt Points. Between 14 July and 19 July as well, all scheduled Happy Hours will have a 5 times Full Tilt Point bonus instead of the usual double points. Happy Hour games are marked under the Tournaments tab with a yellow smiley face.

Also from 14 July, Full Tilt Poker will run the 5 times Bust-Out Bounty. In qualifying tournaments, players who manage to bust-out a member of Team Full Tilt will win an amount equal to 5 times the tournament’s buy-in. The tournament needs to be for real money with at least 30 players to qualify for Bust-Out Bounty bonuses.

Taking out a member of Team Full Tilt is no cake walk. The team consists of some of the top professional poker players, including Howard Lederer, Phil Ivey, Chris Ferguson, John Juanda, Jennifer Harman, Phil Gordon, Erick Lindgren, Erik Seidel, Andy Bloch, Mike Matusow, Gus Hansen, Allen Cunningham, and Patrik Antonius. The tournaments that include one of these excellent players will be highlighted in red, and many regular players are likely to bust themselves out in attempts to claim the bounty on a Team Full Tilt pro poker player.

To keep up the theme of 5s, for 5 days from 14 July through 19 July, Full Tilt Poker will run a $5,000 guaranteed tournament for 5 Full Tilt Points every 5 hours. These tourneys will be colored pink under the Tournaments tab and it is a good idea to register early to ensure you get a place in each tournament. By making use of the 5 times Happy Hour promotion, you can keep stocked up on Full Tilt Points to use for entry into these great birthday tournaments.

The birthday bash will go out with a bang on 19 July with an increase of $700,000 to the normal prize pools of the Big Money Sunday Tournaments for that week. This will result in a total guaranteed prize pool of $2 million across all of the big tourneys. The Sunday Brawl will start first at 14:00ET for $500,000 in prize money. This will be followed by the $1,000,000 guarantee from 18:00ET, boosted to a $1.5 million guarantee for the 5-year celebrations. Then at 19:05ET, The Sunday Mulligan Tournament will have its prize pool increased to $250,000 to cap off Full Tilt’s birthday party.

To take advantage of these great promotions, you need to be a real money player at Full Tilt Poker. New players can benefit from a bonus of up to 100% on first deposits of $600 or less. The birthday promotions are due to begin soon, though, so sign up today in order to take full advantage of them.
