Tony G wins 1st Moscow Millions

December 3, 2007

Loudmouth poker pro, Tony "G" Guoga has won the first ever Moscow Millions at the Kosmos Casino and Hotel in Moscow.

He then promptly donated the entire amount of his first prize winnings to charity!

Click here to play!Guoga outlasted the 52 other competitors to take the $205,000 winners cheque and instantly  announced he would be handing it to Russian orphanges.

"I feel good just being in a position where I can give away money that I win in poker tourneys," Tony said afterwards.

In a recap on his blog Tony also said : "I must congratulate everyone from Poker Professionals; the management was great. The structure was better than the WSOP main event. We had two dealers at the final table so that the next hand was shuffled and ready to go and we had tons of hands at the final table."

According to Poker Professionals spokesperson Anastasia Bauer, who organised the event, they were delighted with the turnout for an event that had no satellite entries. Bauer and Poker Professionals remain very optimistic that the Moscow Millions will become one of the hottest, growing destinations on the European poker scene.

We're just curious why they called it the Moscow Millions when there was only $500,000 in prize money and there are already many poker tournaments with 'Millions' as the title?! For example the upcoming Aussie Millions next month. They could have come up with a better name for a new tournament surely!

You can play against and - if you dare - talk trash with Tony at his very own poker room - TonyG Poker.
