Day 4 of the WPT World Championship began today at 12:00 noon. The field of 55 players will play five levels or down to 18 players, whichever comes first.
It didn't take long for the first player to bust, only 2 and a half minutes for Zvi Shiff to be eliminated from the tournament.
By 1.50pm there had already been quiet a few all-ins and the player list was taken from 55 to 49 in just over 2 hours of play.
At around 3.40pm the average chip stack was raised to $800,000. Yesterdays chip leader Gus Hansen took a few hits today dropping his chip stack down to around 3.3 million which at that point was still good enough for chip leader.
At 7pm the play had tightened up and the field was holding steady with 19 players remaining, just one more player eliminated before the play was to end. Scott Epstein was eliminated in 18th place, earning $105,525.
At the end of the day the average chip count has been raised to 1.6 million, the chip counts at the end of the day were as follows:
