Carbon PokerThe 2011 World Series of Poker is just hours away from starting, and we have some tips for the events to keep an eye on throughout the series.

Join Carbon Poker Carbon Poker now and get onto the WSOP Main Event qualifier tournaments soon, as you won’t have many more chances to win your seat to the most important live poker tournament on the calendar.

While Event 1 will be the Casino Employees special event, we’ll have to wait until the second event for the real action to start. The $25,000 Heads Up No-Limit Hold’em Championship is sure to attract some terrific players, and we would be very interested to see if Erik Seidel will end up taking this tourney to double up on his heads up cred after his NBC Celebrity Heads Up tournament performance.

Event 4 ($5K No Limit HE) could reveal some budding new stars to us, but we think that Event 7, the $10,000 Pot Limit Hold’em Championship will be the next event for excitement after Event 2. Obviously, most of the Championship events will be well worth watching for professional level tournament play, but it’s the hold’em events that should see the stars pull out all the stops.

We will definitely be watching as much of Event 23 ($2.5K Eight Game Mix) as we can. The games included in this mix are Limit Hold’em, Omaha Hi-Lo, Razz, Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo, No Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha, and 2-7 Triple Draw. This event is sure to bring out the very best players and Phil Ivey is a likely favorite to win.
