It might be in a different country this year but the competition is as strong as ever with the main event of the World Series of Poker Europe moving into day four.
In an ironic twist it’s the British (who lost hosting rights this year) which are leading the charge at the end of a frantic day three.
In fact they’ve got the top two spots at the moment with Max Silver leads sitting on 1,780,000 with Chris Moorman just behind on 1,769,000.
Day three was also the day that the bubble burst with Barry Greenstein exiting the tournament in 65th position.
There were 116 players who began the day but a mere 23 will continue to tomorrow in the hunt for the €1,400,000.
Amir Lehavot has already won a gold bracelet this year in Las Vegas and has a good shot to score another as he sits in third place with 1,398,000.
Shawn Buchanan is in fourth with 1,267,000 after earlier in the week finishing second to Michael Mizrachi in the €10,400 Split Format No Limit Hold’em.
If he can crack the top two he’ll find himself on top of the WSOP Player of the Year rankings.
Others still in contention include Tony G (226,000), Erik Seidel (242,000), Jake Cody (522,000) and Patrik Antonius (696,000). The remaining 23 players will return to the felt at Hotel Majestic Barriere on Wednesday at 2pm CET (7 am EST).
