Yesterday saw the official launch of the 2012 Pokerstars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) with players now available to start entering satellites for the event.
The WCOOP is the world’s largest online poker event.
This year there will be 65 events over 22 days starting on September 2nd and running through until September 23rd.
With a guaranteed prize pool of over $30,000,000 the WCOOP will feature the world’s best online poker players.
The event begins with a $215 six-player max no-limit hold’em and concludes with the $5,200 no-limit hold’em Main Event which has a guaranteed prize pool of $5,000,000.00.
The first day of the event will be highlighted by a high-roller $10,300 no limit hold’em tournament that is sure to draw some of the world’s highest stakes online poker players.
Another popular tournament will be the $2100 H.O.R.S.E. with players looking to be crowned the best overall online poker player in the world.
The 2012 Main Event begins on the 23rd of September with Pokerstars hoping to have over 2000 players for the first time in the history of the event.
In 2011 Thomas ‘Kallllle’ Pedersen outlasted a field of over 1600 to claim the WCOOP Main Event title and $1,260,018.50 in cash.
