After a public nomination process the ten finalists for the Poker Hall of Fame class of 2012 has been revealed.
Current Poker Hall of Fame members as well as selected members of the poker media will now vote to determine who will join the exclusive club.
The 2012 Poker Hall of Fame class will be revealed before the commencement of the World Series of Poker Main Event final table in October.
The nominees are:
Chris Bjorin
Bjorin is a two-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner and has cashed in the World Series of Poker an incredible sixty-five times.
David Chiu
Chiu has won World Series of Poker bracelets in Limit Hold’em, Seven Card Stud, and Omaha Eight or Better and also won the 2008 World Poker Tour World Championship.
Eric Drache
Drache has played a vital part in the poker community as both a player and a tournament director. He was tournament director for the World Series of Poker in the 1970s and invented the concept of satellite events that are such a popular aspect of poker today.
Thor Hansen
Hansen is a two time World Series of Poker bracelet winner and has won almost $3 million in his twenty-five career. He is considered one of the pioneers of European poker.
George Hardie
Hardie built the Bicycle Casino, which at the time was the largest card club in the world. The innovations he implemented at his casino are considered to have helped professionalize the poker industry.
Jennifer Harman-Traniello
Harman was the first female to win multiple World Series of Poker bracelets in open events. She is the only woman that has consistently played in the highest stakes cash games in Las Vegas.
John Juanda
Juanda has won five World Series of Poker bracelets and has won over $14 million in tournament poker career. He has made an incredible thirty-one World Series of Poker final tables.
Tom McEvoy
McEvoy won the 1983 World Series of Poker Main Event and at sixty-seven years of age is still a vital part of the poker industry. McEvoy has written over a dozen books on poker and is one of the game’s greatest ambassadors.
Scotty Nguyen
The charismatic Nguyen, known as ‘The Prince’, is one of poker’s most well-known personalities. He has won five World Series of Poker bracelets including the 1998 World Series of Poker Main Event and the 2011 $50k HORSE event.
Brian Roberts
Along with Doyle Brunson and Amarillo Slim Roberts was a part of the famous Texas Rounders. Roberts won the 1975 World Series of Poker Main Event and was considered an extremely popular player before he passed away in 1995.
