The World Series of Poker has announced the schedule for the 2014 edition of the world’s most popular poker festival, which is set to take place from May 27- July 14, 2014 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Boasting more than 60 bracelet events, the Main Event for 2014 will run from July 5, winding down to the final table on July 14th.
Ty Stewart, WSOP Executive Director revealed the event will be the biggest and best so far.
“In our 45th year, and 10th at the Rio, we are hard at work to make the 2014 World Series of Poker the biggest and best yet. We will build it, we hope you will come.”
The new addition of WSOP.com has been earmarked as the only way for players to win seats at the WSOP 2014, which will include entries into the coveted Main Event.
Three events that have been confirmed are the Millionaire Maker, the Big One for ONE DROP and the Little One for ONE DROP.
In 2013, a total of 6,343 entrants kicked off the Millionaire Maker, generating a total prize pool of more than $8.5 million and awarding champion Benny Chen with an incredible $1.2 million winner’s check.
The amazing $1 million buy-in Big One featured 48 players and saw Antonio Esfandiari walk away with more than $18 million; with organizers expecting an even bigger turnout for 2014.
The Little One generated a playing pool of 4,756 players for a total prize pool of more than $4 million and saw champion Brian Yoon turn his $1,111 buy-in into $663,727.

March 2014 has turned into a particularly big one for the World Poker Tour following the announcement of the Gioco Digitale WPT Venice Carnival, to take place from the 5th-16th and becoming the fifth official event of the month.
In production with Tilt Events, the Gioco Digitale WPT Venice Carnival is set to feature 25 events, peaking with the €3,000 Main Event running from March 10-15. In a salute to the history of poker, the event will take place in the world’s oldest Casino; Casino di Venezia.
Other major events set to take place are the €1,500 WPT National Venice High Roller, the €5,000 WPT High Roller and the €990 WPT National Venice, which boasts a guarantee of at least €200,000.
Taking place alongside the WPT Venice Carnival in March 2014 will be the LA Poker Classic from 1st-6th, Bay 101 Shooting Star from 10th-14th, Thunder Valley from 15th-19th and the Jacksonville bestbet Open, running from March 21st-25th.
The 2014 season of the World Poker Tour is set to be the biggest, busiest and most lucrative season of the World’s biggest professional Poker tour to date, and will cover dozens of events in locations around the entire world.

Recently, the World Poker Tour announced plans to expand the Season XII calendar once more with the addition of the WPT Fallsview Poker Classic in February 2014.
Following two extremely successful seasons in Montreal, the WPT will return to Canada once more for the CAD$5,000 main event at the Fallsview Casino Resort, which is located around an hour outside of Toronto.
Featuring a single entry format, the WPT Classic Main Event will run for a total of three days from 22nd-24th of February to close out the tournament series.
“Poker is more popular than ever in Canada, and our players have been asking us to add another WPT stop north of the border” WPT President Adam Pliska said in a statement following the announcement.
“We’re thrilled to accommodate them by adding this great new event to the tour, and we look forward to another fantastic event on Canadian soil.”
In a way to make the tournament accessible to everyone interested, players have had the ability to qualify via satellite events since December 9, which will continue to run until Super Satellites in early February.
Director of Communications at Fallsview Casino, Greg Medulun shared his and the venue’s delight in the new partnership with the WPT.
“The return of the WPT is exciting news for all talented and notable poker enthusiasts” Medulun said.
“Our Casino is well-suited to host what will be a definite sold-out event given the added excitement WPT brings.”
Currently boasting a range of more than 3,000 slot machines and more than one hundred table games, Fallsview Casino is also noted as housing some of the best restaurants in the Toronto area and is located a stone’s throw from the world famous Niagara Falls.

Following up from the success in recent years of the entire Asia-Pacific Poker Tour, the Macau Poker Cup has quickly been etched out as one of the region’s most sought-after prizes and it now appears the 20th edition of the tournament in 2014 will be bigger and better than ever.

With more than 10 major poker events scheduled, the 2014 Macau Poker Cup is already in line to be the biggest in the history of the tournament.

In just over five months, professional poker players from around the world will descend on Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia for the 2014 Aussie Millions!
Crown announced this week the dates and schedule for the festival, beginning on Thursday January 23 and will run through to Monday February 10, featuring 20 exciting events.
Beginning proceedings will be the AU$1100 No-Limit Hold’em event featuring three starting days, the start of which will be staggered over a three day period.
Other events will include the hugely popular AU$1100 No-Limit Hold’em Accumulator event, as well as tournament mainstays the AU$25,000 Challenge, AU$100,000 Challenge and AU$250,000 Challenge!
All these events will of course lead up to the main event; the largest tournament in fact in the Southern Hemisphere, the AU$10,000 Aussie Millions Main Event, which is scheduled to take place from February 2-9.
Last Year, the final table included such pro’s as Dan Shak, David Yan, Patrik Antonius and Jay Tan, however it was Mervin Chan who took home the Winner’s check of AU$1.6 million, ahead of a field of 629.
