Jesse Martin Wins First Bracelet at 2013 World Series of Poker

by | Published: Thursday, June 27th, 2013

Jesse Martin outplayed a star-studded final table to win the $10,000 No Limit Deuce-to-Seven Single Draw event at the 2013 World Series of Poker and his first gold bracelet.

The No Limit Deuce-to-Seven Single Draw tournament always draws a strong field and 2013 was no exception with eighty-seven of the world’s best poker players taking part.

The final table was always going to be tough but the talent that remained in the tournament on the final day was ridiculous with fifteen combined WSOP bracelets and millions of dollars of prizemoney spread across the table.

Six-time World Series of Poker winner Layne Flack was a clear chip leader heading into the final table but was eliminated in fifth place and was quickly followed to the rail by Jon Turner and 2009 WSOP Player of the Year Jeff Lisandro.

Both Konstantin Puchkov and David Bakes have already qualified for final tables during the 2013 World Series of Poker but both fell narrowly short of victory once again with Martin claiming the first place prize of $253,524.

Martin has recorded a number of consistent results at the World Series and his first bracelet victory was well deserved.

In other action on an exciting day at the World Series Sandeep Pulusani overcame a seven to one heads-up chip disadvantage to win his maiden WSOP bracelet.

Second place looked likely for Pulusani but he refused to concede the title to Niall Farrell and dodged several all-ins to produce a remarkable comeback.

The first place prize of $592,684 was easily the biggest prize of his career and easily justified his decision to move to Las Vegas to play professional poker.

Canadian players have been the big story of the 2013 World Series of Poker but Norbert Szecsi picked up a win for the Europeans by taking out the latest $1,000 No Limit Hold’em tournament.

The Hungarian online poker specialist wasted little time taking out the title with the final table lasting only a few hours.

At only twenty-two years of age Szecsi has a very big poker career in front of him and the first place prize of $345,037 is a major boost to his bankroll.

The second day of the $111,111 One Drop High Rollers No-Limit Hold’em event is underway with the eighty remaining players battling it out for the massive prize pool of $17,891,148.

Brandon Steven is the current chip lead but there are plenty of talented players left in the event.
