Event 1 was the Casino Employees event, and it has now concluded to crown Sean Drake from Sacramento as the winner. He won the event with Q6 of clubs, going up against the J8 of diamonds that his opponent Jason Baker held. The board did not help either player, and so ended a back and forth battle that saw the last two players in this event changing fortunes every few minutes.

Event 2 is the Heads Up No-Limit Hold’em Championship, and the two players to watch are clearly Gus Hansen and Yevgeniy Timoshenko. Of course, it would be insane to discount the other two remaining players Jake Cody and Eric Froehlich, but Hansen and Timoshenko have proven how dangerous they are in WSOP events time and time again.

Event 3 is the $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo event, and this event looks almost destined to produce a previously unknown bracelet winner. The remaining field just isn’t filled with enough recognizable names for the final table to be filled with more than semi-pros.

Event 4 started today, the $5,000 No Limit Hold’em event. This has drawn a field of 865 players, but it will be greatly reduced by the end of Day 1. The total prize pool for this event is $4,065,500 and the winner is set to receive $874,116.

Event 5 is the $1,500 Seven Card Stud event, and it has managed to draw a fairly impressive field of pro players. Some big names include Daniel Negreanu, Shaun Deeb, Mimi Tran, Andy Bloch, Scott Seiver, Eli Elezra, and Jennifer Harman.
