Masek was delighted to announce his victory to his Twitter followers yesterday.
“Took down a 6th WSOP Circuit ring in the turbo event at the Bike today -whole tourney played out in 13 hours, feels pretty surreal,” Masek posted.
Masek was tied with Mark Smith and Kyle Cartwright on five World Series of Poker Circuit rings, before this event, but now sits by himself as the king of the WSOP Circuit.
Smith has been the reigning champion of the World Series of Poker circuit for the last three years but was quick to pay credit to Masek.
“My heartfelt congratulations – wear that crown proudly,” Smith said.
“You earned it! Now, I’ve got something to shoot at.”
Masek won the tournament in front of a big crowd after just twelve hours by defeating Hollywood voice actor Bill Fagerbakke in heads-up play.
Fagerbakke is noted for his work on Sponge Bob Square Pants, Batman Beyond, The Artist, Weeds as well as Beethoven and is considered one of the more popular poker-playing actors in Hollywood.
Masek has now recorded six tournament victories, eleven final tables apperances and forty-six cashes for nearly y $300,000 in World Series of Poker tournaments.
Masek has no plans to quit the World Series of Poker Circuit and is expected to play at least three more events this season.

Twenty-seven-year-old Alexandru Masek captured his fifth World Series of Poker Circuit Ring at Harrah’s Rincon yesterday equaling the record jointly held by Mark Smith and Kyle Cartwright.
Masek defeated a field of 205 players in the $365 No-Limit Hold’em event to win the $15,989 first place prize.
Masek was delighted with the victory and happy that his frustrating run to capture a fifth ring was finally over.
“I feel really good. I feel like I’m on cloud nine right now,” Masek said.
“I feel like I got close quite a few times and that’s tournament poker. Now, it’s great to finally get number five to come out.”
Masek faced off against Randy Paguio heads-up, who was aiming to win the tournament for the second straight year, and believes defeating such a good player makes this victory even more special.
“I have great respect for Randy Paguio,” Masek said.
“He played extremely well that entire final table, building a short-stack up and then putting well-timed pressure on opponents once he chipped up.
“He won this same tournament a year ago, and I won it the previous year, so that also created an interesting dynamic at the final table.”
Masek has recently returned to poker, after taking a break over the last couple of months, and has big plans for the remainder of 2012 and 2013.
“The win put me in a good spot to contend for the Casino Champion, so it’s given me extra incentive to play every ring event here,” Masek said.
“During January and February I’m going to play the Circuit at the Bicycle Casino, then the Los Angeles Poker Classic at Commerce Casino.
“Between those two I’ll end up playing over 40 live tournaments the first two months of the year.”
Masek said he will definitely return to the World Series of Poker Circuit and would love to win a historic sixth ring.
“I definitely intend on qualifying for the WSOP National Championship so I’m going to travel to several Circuit stops,” Masek said.

Kyle Cartwright has won the $1675 World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event at IP Casino Resort in Biloxi to become just the second person ever to win five World Series of Poker Circuit tournaments.
Cartwright outlasted 299 other players to take the first prize of $107,992.
The victory means that Cartwright is now tied with Mark Smith for the most World Series of Poker Circuit championship rings.
Cartwright was extremely proud of his achievement and does not plan on stopping at five rings.
“It feels good and it hasn’t taken that long. It’s been about two years and I hope to get a lot more in the next few years. If someone gets six, I want seven. Whatever the record is, I want it,” Cartwright said in a post tournament interview.
Cartwright went into the final table as a big chip leader with 2,232,000 in chips compared to second place John Dolan who had 1,207,000.
Cartwright held his chip advantage the entire final table and won the heads up battle against Brad Johnson after only three hands of play.
Smith did not attend the tournament but followed at home as it looked more and more likely that Cartwright would win the tournament to go even with his record mark.
“I couldn’t be more pleased it was him. He is not only a really nice guy but a wonderful player. I’m flattered to be in such good company. These young guys play two to three times the stops I do and I’m sure over time I will be passed up, but from 2009 to now I have either been tied or held the world record in rings. How blessed am I,” Smith said in an interview with the World Series of Poker.
Cartwright and Smith will both attend the World Series of Poker Circuit event to be played at Horseshoe Bossier City next month.
