Poker Night in America set to Take TV screens by Storm

by | Published: Tuesday, July 30th, 2013

Headed for Television screens all over the United States, ‘Poker Night in America’, or PNIA, is an initiative of Rush Street Productions and will highlight the variety, entertainment and fun involved with Poker.

Headed by former head of Heartland Poker Tour, Todd Anderson, the show is aiming to be the first point of contact at the biggest shows all over the country.

“We’re looking to film the biggest and best poker events at premier venues” Anderson was quoted as saying recently.

“We’re going to bring a fresh approach to how poker is shown on TV, making the show relevant to the average viewer.

“We think the world is ready to watch poker in a whole new way” Anderson said.

Like many of the other television based Poker promotions that are currently succeeding in the market, PNIA will focus on ‘made for’ events featuring celebrities and professional poker players alike, however will also incorporate interactive, at-home play components involving prizes and even the chance of making an appearance on the show.

Anderson further revealed the inspiration for the initiative in a post recently left on

“Poker Night in America will debut on American television sometime in early 2014″.

“My goal is to make it very different from any other poker show. Ironically, to do so this new show will focus less on poker and more on the interesting story lines and characters in the world of poker and gambling.

“I’ve been involved in TV and Poker for the past eight years and if there’s one thing I’m sure of, it’s that this business is chalk full of fascinating people and stories” Anderson said.

While the show itself isn’t due for at least six months, the maiden PNIA television event will occur on August 10 at Turning Stone Casino in Verona, New York at the Empire State Poker Classic.
