2013 World Series of Poker Bracelet Round-Up

by | Published: Monday, June 24th, 2013

Although the victories of Erick Lindgren and Jeff Madsen dominated the headlines at the 2013 World Series of Poker this weekend there were still several other tournaments decided.

Bryan Campanello recorded the biggest win of his poker career by outlasting a field of 301 players to win the $2,500 Seven Card Razz event.

The youngster completely dominated the final table and was a deserving winner of the only Razz event on the 2013 World Series of Poker schedule.

In the $1,000 Turbo No Limit Hold’em tournament Michael Gathy defeated a strong final table to win his second WSOP bracelet.

Gathy was one of three former bracelet winners at the final table and was able to outlast Jason Duval and Jake Cody to claim the first place prize of $278,613 and become the second Belgian, after Davidi Kitai, to win an event at the 2013 World Series of Poker.

Another European was successful in the $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em Shootout with Bulgarian Simeon Naydenov taking home the bracelet and the first place prize of $326,440.

Naydenov has proven to be a specialist in the Shootout format with his victory in this event adding to his tenth place finish in the $3,000 variation at the start of the World Series.

The final table of the tournament had a truly global feel with players representing Bulgaria, Germany, Canada, Czech Republic, Argentina, Great Britain and the United States taking part.

The $5,000 Limit Hold’em event drew a disappointing field of only 170 players but that didn’t bother Michael Moore who won his first ever World Series of Poker bracelet.

Moore is a WSOP veteran who finished tenth in the 1995 Main Event and required his many years of his experience to outplay a strong final table that included past bracelet winners Ronnie Bardah and Todd Witteles as well as rising poker stars Ben Yu and Justin Bonomo.

There is no rest for the wicked at the 2013 World Series of Poker with several more winners set to join Campanello, Gathy, Naydenov and Moore in the coming days.
