The World Series of Poker has released the schedule for the 2013 event that will be held from May 29th to July 15th at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino.
The schedule is not that different from the 2012 offerings but sixty-two gold bracelets will be offered – one up from 2012.
The World Series of Poker Main Event will begin on the 6th of July while the first Saturday $1500 No Limit Hold’em event will award $1 million to the winner – a tournament WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart is particularly excited for.
“Dreams are dealt each year at the World Series of Poker,” Stewart said.
“From the opening weekend, where we will make yet another millionaire, to the Main Event, which awards the largest single prize in the world, the WSOP is an annual affirmation about the strength and global appeal of the game.”
World Series of Poker Tournament Director Jack Effel is extremely excited for the event and said the schedule is one of the best in the history of the World Series.
“Bring your bankroll, whatever it is, and come have the time of your life,” Effel said.
“We think this is the most diverse schedule we’ve ever had and we’ll be ready for an all-time turn-out at the 44th annual WSOP.”
Highlights of the 2013 World Series of Poker Schedule Include:
- No Limit Hold’em weekends in June. Every weekend a $1500 buy-in large field event will be held for players that are only able to attend the World Series of Poker for a single weekend.
- The “Millionaire Maker’ scheduled for June 1st is a $1,500 buy-in Single Re-Entry tournament that will guarantee the winner at least $1 million.
- The first Turbo event will be held on June 19 with levels of only thirty minutes.
- The One Drop High Roller with a $111,111 buy-in will award a World Series of Poker bracelet with three percent of the house fees being donated to the One Drop charity.
- The Little One For One Drop with a $1,111 buy-in is the only unlimited re-entry tournament of the event with players able to re-buy as many times as they like during the first four levels of play.
- The first ever Open Face Chinese Poker tournament in the history of the World Series will be held on July 13th although an official World Series of Poker bracelet will not be awaraded.

The World Series of Poker has released the tournament schedule for the inaugural WSOP Asia-Pacific event that will be held at the Crown Casino in Melbourne from April 4th to 15th.
The 2013 World Series of Poker Asia-Pacific will feature five bracelet events as well as the Caesars Cup Invitational Event, High Rollers tournaments, satellites and the ever-popular cash games.
World Series of Poker Executive Director Ty Stewart was extremely excited to announce the schedule for the first World Series event that will be held in the Southern Hemisphere.
“Ever since Australian Joe Hachem won the WSOP Main Event in 2005, we dreamed of the day we could hear Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi Oi, Oi on native soil,” Stewart said.
“We can’t wait for the first WSOP Asia-Pacific to begin, and we hope with a solidified schedule, players from around the globe will plan their trip to Melbourne in April as we make WSOP history awarding the first bracelets in the Southern Hemisphere.”
Crown Casino is considered one of the best poker casinos in the world and Stewart believes it will help draw players from the United States and Europe to play the event on the other side of the world.
“Most of the top players take multiple trips to European tournaments these days,”he said.
“The travel time to Melbourne is essentially the same as venues in Europe, and everyone who visits Crown can’t wait to return.”
Crown Chief Executive Officer Greg Hawkins said he was thrilled Crown had the opportunity to partner with the World Series of Poker.
“Players from all over the globe will descend on Crown Melbourne in April, all vying for one of the five coveted bracelets on offer,” Stewart said.
“The ‘bracelet’ events will range from the AUD$1100 – AUD$10,000 which will ensure players are well catered for in terms of choice.
“The five WSOP APAC ‘bracelet’ winners will etch their names in the long and coveted history that is the World Series of Poker.”

A €50,000 Re-Entry High-Roller tournament has been added to the schedule for the 2012 World Series of Poker Europe.
The event will start on October 2 and will be played over three days with registration open until the second level of play on day 2.
The event is inspired by the highly successful Big One for One Drop tournament that was held at the 2012 World Series of Poker.
Ty Stewart, executive director of the World Series of Poker, believes that high stakes poker action will really build the excitement for the event.
“There is an appetite for a group of players to continue to play really big, and we strive to have offerings for every player at WSOPE events. A high-stakes tournament seemed the best way to ensure these players could get the action they crave beyond the large tournament fields,” Stewart said.
The event will be the first reentry event ever to be played at the World Series of Poker Europe and may lead similar events being added to the 2013 World Series of Poker schedule.
“WSOPE is a destination event, and poker players would rather be back in action than on a beach. You go halfway around the world and want to play, unlike Vegas where there is another event starting in a few hours,” Stewart said.
“For a High Roller, I think players want to see the prize pool as big as possible. There will be guys in the field likely firing two bullets and that means more value.”
The winner of the event will event will not win a World Series of Poker bracelet with Stewart claiming that the organization is cautious about the expansion of bracelets to protect their prestige.
“There’s a lot of action to be spread outside the bracelets. This year in Vegas, we had over 230,000 total entries in tournaments and satellites — with only about 75,000 of them bracelet events. We’re trying to do the same here in Europe with nearly 70 total events,” Stewart said.
The World Series of Poker Europe begins in Cannes on the 21st of September.
